New Delhi: Jasveen Sangha, known as the “Ketamine Queen,” is one of five people charged in connection with actor Matthew Perry’s death due to a drug overdose last year. Investigators say Ms. Sangha provided the lethal dose of ketamine that caused Mr. Perry’s death.
Ms. Sangha, a 41-year-old with both British and American citizenship, had been on the radar of federal authorities for her involvement in distributing dangerous drugs. Nicknamed the “Ketamine Queen of Los Angeles,” she allegedly ran a drug operation out of her home in North Hollywood. Officials claim her residence was used to store, package, and distribute various drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine, and prescription medications like Xanax.
Her drug operation, which had been active since at least June 2019, attracted attention after she was arrested in March for selling methamphetamine in a separate case. During a raid on her home, federal agents found 79 bottles of liquid ketamine and nearly 2,000 meth pills, revealing the extent of her illegal activities.
Matthew Perry Reportedly Ingested Multiple Doses of Ketamine on Day of His Death.
According to a statement given to investigators, Friends star Matthew Perry instructed his live-in personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, to administer several intravenous doses of ketamine on the day he died.
On that fateful day last October, Perry, who was later found drowned in his hot tub at his Los Angeles home, requested his first dose of ketamine at 8:30 a.m. Four hours later, while watching a movie, he asked Iwamasa for another injection. Just 40 minutes after that, Perry demanded a larger dose, commanding, “Shoot me up with a big one,” and told Iwamasa to prepare the hot tub.
Iwamasa complied with Perry’s request and then left the house to run errands. When he returned, he discovered Perry face-down in the water.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s autopsy report revealed that Matthew Perry, aged 54, died from the “acute effects of ketamine” and drowned in the “heated end of his pool.”
Ketamine, a powerful anesthetic commonly used both recreationally and in the treatment of depression, was identified as a major factor in his death. Additionally, the report noted that buprenorphine, an opioid typically prescribed for heroin addiction, also played a role in the tragic outcome.

The latest revelations about the death of cherished actor Matthew Perry suggest a darker narrative than previously thought. What was initially deemed an accidental drowning is now evolving into a complex case that could potentially involve elements of foul play.
Five individuals, including two doctors and Perry’s longtime domestic aide, have been officially charged in connection with the actor’s death. U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada disclosed that the medical professionals administered a significant amount of ketamine—a drug usually employed as an anesthetic—to Perry. Further investigation revealed that these doctors engaged in text exchanges discussing how much the former Friends star might be willing to pay, using disparaging language to refer to him.
Matthew Perry had been getting regular ketamine treatments for depression from his usual doctors, but the amounts he received weren’t enough to explain his death. When these doctors refused to give him more, he turned to others in desperation.
“These weren’t legitimate treatments,” U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada explained. “We’re talking about two doctors who took advantage of their positions and their medical licenses to endanger someone’s life.”
DEA Administrator Anne Milgram revealed that at one point, Perry paid $2,000 for a vial of ketamine that cost the doctor only about $12. In the two months leading up to his death, Perry gave these doctors around $55,000 in cash.
