A former aide to Donald Trump has asserted that the ex-president has been adopting false theories about his political opponent.
A former aide to Donald Trump has said that the ex-president is holding on to false theories about his political opponent as Kamala Harris’ campaign gains more support, making him “desperate.” Sarah Matthews, who once worked as Trump’s spokesperson, mentioned in an interview on MSNBC’s *Inside with Jen Psaki* that Trump feels the election slipping away and is now clinging to conspiracy theories, like the AI-generated crowds, which are easy to disprove.
Harris has been attracting large, excited crowds at her rallies, but Trump has brushed them off. Reports suggest he has even believed online theories that these crowds, shown in videos and photos, are created using artificial intelligence technology.
Matthews mentioned other times when Trump seemed to support ideas that hurt his campaign. She pointed to his interview at the National Association of Black Journalists convention as an example. During the interview, Trump made a comment about Harris, saying, “I didn’t know she was Black until a few years ago, when she suddenly turned Black, and now she wants to be recognized as Black.”
Matthews also pointed out how Trump criticized Brian Kemp at a recent rally in Georgia. Back in 2020, Kemp reportedly refused to help Trump “find” votes in his state to change the election results.
“These are not effective campaign messages,” Matthews said. “But this is what Trump does when he feels under attack—he uses these kinds of defenses that don’t really make sense for a campaign.”
Donald Trump Age
78 Years (14 June 1946)
Donald Trump (born June 14, 1946, in New York) served as the 45th president of the United States from 2017 to 2021 and is the Republican candidate in the 2024 U.S. presidential election. On May 30, 2024, Trump made history as the first former president to be convicted of a crime when a New York jury found him guilty of 34 felony counts related to falsifying business records. This was connected to a hush-money payment made in 2016 to adult-film star Stephanie Clifford, also known as Stormy Daniels, who claimed she had an affair with Trump in 2006.
Trump was later charged with multiple federal and state offenses related to his attempts to overturn Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory and his removal of classified documents from the White House when he left office. He was also found liable in a significant civil case accusing him of business fraud in New York and in two civil suits where he was accused of sexually abusing and defaming writer E. Jean Carroll. On April 15, 2024, Trump became the first former president to face trial on criminal charges, starting with the business-records case.
